Precisely the title, I'm looking for no closure.

I want it to hurt. I want to cry. I love enemies to lovers but the time, I want enemies that will always put their ideals, goals, wants above each other: I want them to love, and then never choose that love. "You matter, minimally."

    Spoilers for all books mentioned:

In the Poppy War, you could consider both Rin and Nezha or Rin and Venka, and neither of them get a happy ending. He would always side with his family, she had done despicable things and Venka's… Y'know. It was always going to be a tragedy.

The Jasmine Throne is more ambiguous in how it ends, but amidst the thick of the three books Priya and Malini are both torn by their loyalties to their respective nations.

In Kushiel's Dart, Phedre and Melisande admit they love each other. And yet Melisande is still exiled, and in the end they hate each other too, equally.

Something like The Cruel Prince is fine, too, like how they don't get together until the very end of the last book. Even when they're married they're still enemies. And Gideon the Ninth, in which Mercymorn and Augustine were a minor pair, the hate/love dynamic was so exhilarating.

I prefer reading F/M and F/F but shoot me with anything.
