Never really pinned myself for a sci-fi person but that’s mostly because I can’t be bothered with all the new species and places and concepts that come with a lot of fantasy books, and I always thought sci-fi was like space civilization kinda stuff 😅
After reading these two I realise I kinda love it. Not necessarily because of sciencey parts of them but I love how they talk about these interesting philosophical questions. Faith and religion in Contact and the right to change someone’s intelligence and how we treat disabled people in flowers for Algernon. It just happened that both books are sci-fi so maybe that IS what I like. But I like that it happens in this world with nothing much changing except one scientific or technological breakthrough.
If you feel the same way I do and think of anything I might like to read, please let me know.
