Book suggestion for my brother?

Want to buy a book for my brother, not really a big reader myself so a little bit stumped on where to start. He's 28 y/o born in Liverpool, living in Glasgow. I know he's big into international books (he studied Spanish+Portugese at uni so big into Latin American books), big on global political issues, big on LGBTQ+ themes. In terms of films he likes (cuz I know more about that, I'm more of a film guy), I know he likes David Lynch, Jean Luc Godard, you know this sort of film nerd surrealist stuff. Idk if any of this is really useful but if any of you can read my word vomit and think of a book from it, that'd be so useful. Thanks.
