My friend is hospitalized for 1-2 months with pregnancy complications. Looking for a book that is heartwarming/uplifting but not sappy. She grew up loving Harry Potter and she is interested in history. She is not a fan of romance. Would like to avoid storylines with pregnancy loss and death of a child.
