Linked / nested short stories more than the sum of their parts

Hi –

Looking for fiction that is comprised of short stories that are linked or nested to create more than the sum of their parts. I lean sci-fi but not exclusively.

Examples I've enjoyed in this genre include:

Ghostwritten, Cloud Atlas – David Mitchell (Bone Clocks also has this structure, but less overt)

Other examples where there seem to be short stories running in parallel, though the characters' paths may intertwine:

A visit from the good squad, Candy House – Jennifer Egan

Mountain and the sea – Ray Nayler

Dervish House, River of Gods – Ian McDonald

Void Star – Zachary Mason
