Hello, my book club just finished reading Half of a Yellow Sun and the next book on our list is going to be fairly heavy and existential as well.
I’d love to find something much lighter in the interim, as a kind of palate cleanser. Something that is perhaps witty—a story that functions as a social commentary could be fun.
I’m not particular on the detail, provided that it is well-written in terms of plot, character development, or description.
And it should be something that yields discussion in a book club setting. In short, a book that isn’t too heavy but still makes you think.
I’m avoiding simple romances or stories that are sappy or overly sweet for sweetness’ sake.
Thanks in advance!
