Okay so I am starting to read again, ive finsihed the excorset in a week and I loved the topic of it, the horror, the realism and the religion side of it. So ive been looking for a book that can fit all those things. You can take "the roman rituals" for example, its a Bible type book that depicts things other then Jesus, i just might not get it cuz i might struggle with latin(ik spanish so hopes up). Please if you have any reqs on this topic please lmk

LA BAS by JK Huysmans is about a writer investigating Satanism in 19th century Paris.
Boys in the Valley by Philip Fracassi. It’s a kind of Lord of the Flies/Children of the corn mash-up with The Exorcist vibe. Set in a monastery which is also a home for orphaned boys, late 1800’s. It’s a bit slashery and brutal in places, but it was great fun.
