I am wanting to get into reading non-fiction again, but I feel like it's so much harder now to find well-researched books. I have been able to find some (things like Salt and books by Mary Roach, etc.) but I also really appreciate reading about niche topics that I wouldn't have necessarily thought to look into before, which is harder to look for on your own.
I typically read things that focus on the cultural/historical side of things, but I'm open to hard sciences so long as it's accessible. I'd prefer they be more current, especially if the topic involves politics/cultural studies.
I'm mostly just looking for suggestions that will help me learn about topics I wouldn't have sought out otherwise.
