Doing research for a novel — need to learn more about sports journalists

I'm writing a novel as a personal project, and I'd like to tell part of the story from the POV of a sports journalist.

I know nothing about how newspapers work, and what kinds of pressures the modern day journalist faces (other than the obvious tension between generating engagement and producing well written/researched work). So I'm doing some research.

I'm looking for a non-fiction about life in the modern-day newspaper business. I'd also be willing to do a novel if it explores similar themes.
