I would love some suggestions for my upcoming long road trip with my eight-year-old. She currently listens to all of the Harry Potter books constantly. She has also enjoyed the Chronicles of Narnia series and books by Roald Dahl.
I would love something new to listen to together on our upcoming road trip… A couple ideas I had were The Golden Compass or The Hobbit. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

Both the his dark materials series and the hobbit I adored at your child’s age so definitely good choices. At that age I also loved anything Michael morpurgo, my favourites are Kensuke’s Kingdom (everyone I know who’s read it loved it and it’s pretty short) Running Wild and Alone on a Wide Wide Sea
