I read a short story in a Great American Short Stories published in the 1960s or 50s which had a young boy in a classroom with a class teacher named Miss or Mrs. Bluel. The boy is staring out the window, his mind wandering over stuff other than what his teacher is saying. He has kindly feelings towards his teacher, who may have been either young or old. The book had a dark blue cover and had stories by Washington Irving (Rip Van Winkle) and Mark Twain and others. I liked the reverie the boy is in and his affection for his teacher. I forget how the story unfolds, but have always wanted to track it down Would be grateful for leads to it or to one which might be the one and I got name of the teacher wrong. (ChatGPT hasn't been able to help).
