I was reading a longish book recently and though I loved parts of it couldn't help but think if some bits were edited out it would be much stronger. So I want to ask what are some books you've read which are "economical" in the sense that every chapter and sentence was important and if anything was cut it would hinder the experience. The only book I could come up with so far is Pride and Prejudice. Every sentence adds something to the experience
