Looking for a slow-burn book with a moody atmosphere and subtle dialogue, similar to films like Portrait of a Lady on Fire, La Chimera, and Burning

Vibes are more important to me than plot as long as it's thematically rich. Not a fan of melodrama (unless its a Joan Crawford movie).
