If anyone has any books written from the perspective of an insane person (fictional) or any books filled with taboo or is weird asf I’d be interested in reading them.
I’ve been reading pretty clean, average and classy books and I just want to completely 180 it and read something deplorable or weird in my own time.
Also preferred to have a story x
I’ll be saving these for later when I get back home. Books that are available digitally is preferred but physical book-only is fine too.
To clarify I want to be shocked and the books to meet my request but if it’s extremely scummy and exploitative of real life events please attach a warning.

James Ellroy (The Black Dahlia, L.A. Confidential, American Tabloid) wrote a novel in 1986, told from the first-person perspective of a brilliant but psychopathic serial killer named Martin Michael Plunkett, who recounts his life of murder and obsession, influenced by the Manson Family hysteria in Los Angeles. The book is a dark character study, exploring the mind of a killer through his own confessions, police reports, and media coverage, and is notable for being one of the earliest serial-killer novels written from the killer’s point of view.
It’s called Killer on the Road, but can also be found under its original alternate title, Silent Terror.
