I'm using incel as a catch-all but I loved The Sorrows of Young Werther and Steppenwolf so much and have been trying hard to find something similar but haven't been able to.
I also think the proto-incel trope is very intriguing as well with men that think they are estranged from society but actually aren't, make some contemporary criticisms of society, and also a good one-sided love story! I am mainly looking for something from the romantic era, but things that are more recent are great as well.
