*Felidae* is an entire series of crime books with a detective cat lead. I don’t an anthropomorphic cat, it is a housecat who solves mysteries. And it’s not cutesy, it’s as gruesome as any crime novel.

For generally cat-centric fantasy tales there is the classic – Tailchaser’s Song

The Cat’s Meow by Jonathan B Losos for nonfiction
Philip Schott is a Candian veterinarian that writes these nonfiction books that have little stories about his time as a vet and some have cat stories in it. Unfortunately they cover all the animals so there’s not a specific cat one.
If you’re okay with fiction and manga, A Man and His Cat is one of the most heartwarming fictional cat stories I’ve read.
The Traveling Cat Chronicles is a Japanese fiction that has a cat main character, but he warns this one will make you bawl.
Invisible Kitties by Yu Yoyo is a Chinese translated novel (more like little musings than a full story) about a young couple that observes their cat’s silly behavior. It’s a riff off of Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities so you’d want to see if the style of writing suits your tastes.
