I'm traveling for 20-23 days, to meet my future in-laws and a few family trips as well. I read all kinds of books, but I'm looking for book suggestions which will make me difficult to put it down.
Few recent books that I have read:
1) good start but boring mid way
2) The shadows of the wind – couldn't put it down
3) the book binder of Jericho – bought it because I love period dramas, but it's very boring
4) 1984 – not my kinda book
5) reading jeffery archer's collection of short stories
I like thriller and romance. But, I'm looking for some easy read/ feel good books or any books that can improve my writing skills
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Based on what you loved about Shadow of the Wind, you might want to check out The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – it’s got that same addictive quality where you’ll burn through it in a day or two. For something that’ll help with writing while still being a page-turner, maybe try Stephen King’s On Writing, it’s part memoir part craft book and way more engaging than most writing guides.
Safe travels and hope the in-laws are cool!
You should try The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion. There are 8 volumes out, and I recommend you give the first two a try before deciding if they’re for you. Set in Victorian London with a touch of magic and romance. Everyone I know has become addicted to them once they’ve reached the second or third book!
They’re available on Kindle Unlimited, I believe.
You might enjoy A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles-it’s suspenseful but overall a positive ending
