So I’ve read a few mh memoirs now and in all of them the mentally ill person always has super supportive and helpful parents (unlike me 😭). I’m looking for one where there is little to no parental support or acceptance. If you have any non memoir suggestions leave those too!

I’m Glad My Mom Died
The dysfunctional relationship with her mom was the cause of her eating disorder, not a help with it. She gets therapy as an adult but no real support when she was young.
Not exactly mental health, but Educated is a fantastic memoir and their parents were definitely not supportive.
