I thought the initial introduction of Francis Dolarhyde was pretty well done. It gave massive creeps and I do think that Harris did an amazing job giving his backstory. The relation (really lack of) he had with his mother almost made me cry. The way his grandmother treated him honestly scared me. Harris did a great job in showing how bleak Dolarhyde’s childhood was. Though I did find his whole “becoming” thing in the museum to be humorous. Like who tf eats a painting.

Lecter was pretty fascinating, while Graham was interesting though a bit one dimensional at times I thought.

There were some other well written parts in the novel as well, but overall I thought it was a bit of a letdown. Should I still read Silence of the Lambs?
