I was an avid reader as a kid. Some of my favourites were the Fate in the Box by Michelle Laurie, Night Owls by Jenn Bennett, and Fire Colour One by Jenny Valentine. Favourite authors include Philip Pullman, Jeffrey Archer, and Agatha Christie.
However, when I try to get into reading now, contemporary novels feel so pretentious and daunting, to be honest, while Booktok seems very focused on romantasy, which I am not into. I have no problem with complex prose or romance but I'm most interested in trying new novels with similar vibes to those I've read. Sorry, not sure what genre exactly encompasses these books.
