I’m a guy, I’d like to ask female readers what you believe are essential romance books that I should read?

Essentially what the titles says, I’m a guy, very typical in a lot of ways, I enjoy romance as a genre (it can be both spicy, non-spicy or in between), I’ve read some but not a lot, I’d like to ask for women’s perspective on what are books essential to the genre (note: I’d be particularly interested in any examples of the classic Knight x princess romance stories as that seems to be a staple sub-genre) particularly what books ladies think would help guys to see what it is that girls love about it and what they’d be happy for more guys to enjoy or what they think a lot of average guys would like if they give it a shot. If any ladies on Reddit would be kind enough to help bridge the gap for an average cis guy who wants to understand what a lot of girls like. I’d appreciate it.
