I want fantasy based books that are adventurous but nothing crazy world ending or save all the people type stuff. I like things set in medieval times and I particularly love jester characters, princesses, knights and pirates. I am a simple woman and love a good romance novel. I do prefer having a female lead though!

So Brandon sanderson’s “tress of the emerald sea” hits pretty much every single one of your requirements. A woman falls in love with the dukes son. Duke sends son away, woman goes searching on a pirate ship for him. Great world building, Sanderson really excels at it. It has strong princess bride vibes.
