    Hello!

I’m experiencing a bit of book fatigue these past few weeks—which sucks because I do enjoy reading in general. I’d like to pick up and read something I hope is “new” in the sense that the story doesn’t feel predictable. In particular, perhaps a main protagonist and antagonist having a smart back and forth battle? Or like the characters in a book that won’t make you want to shake their shoulders and yell at them to talk to resolve their issues. Or maybe a sort of survival-esque story where you don’t know which character would live?

Anything that had made you, as a reader, felt like “oh wow, I’do not see this coming” and hope that upon reading it too, I’d enjoy it and feel the same surprise as you!

    Thank you in advance!

    1. Look into oral history type books.  There’s a decent one on Lollapalooza that came out in the last couple years or any of the James Andrew Miller books.  They’re conversational by design and feel like a break from more structured writing
