Roald Dahl wrote a really good story about a male fox. It was fantastic, Can’t remember what it was called though.

Cornelia Funke’s *Reckless* books have a fox character. More as a supporting role than a protagonist though. She shapeshifts between fox and human.

Fox and I: An Uncommon Friendship, Catherine Raven. It’s a memoir, so nonfiction. But it’s good and you might like it. The author works in Yellowstone National Park and lives nearby.

The Animals of Farthing Wood series has main character foxes amongst many other animals but deeply traumatic for a children’s book series (don’t get me started on the TV show!)

**The Animals of Farthing Wood series by Clive Dunn**.
It’s about a collection of wild animals, not just foxes, but a fox is the leader of the group and a couple of the sequels focus on his family in particular.

Le Petite Prince is the best book featuring a fox.

I vaguely remember a character from my childhood books called Foxy Loxy.
Also: there may have been foxes in Aesop’s Fables.
