The problem I often find with books about human suffering is the character or author goes through hardship, but I wouldn’t call the experience detailed that bad. For the most part they get to live a normal life, even if it’s difficult. I’m specifically looking for books that are defined by pain and suffering, where life is reduced to nothing but pure misery.
For context I have lived a very difficult life, to put it lightly, and wanted something either relatable or where that I could even feel fortunate. More often than not when consuming a piece of media it feels like the character is living in some dream fantasy while I am missing out.
Thank you!!
