i am a disabled lady that loves weird girl lit fic and my favorite book of all time is All’s Well by Mona Awad. I am desperately trying to find another fiction (like literally any genre honestly) book that has a leading lady that displays such an accurate and honest depiction of female pain and chronic illness. i consume a lot of non fiction about disability justice and crip culture but that is not what i am looking for. i need a fiction character to relate too even if i am rooting against them. thank youuu!

Before I Saw You by Emily Houghton
Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor
Very different genre, but Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert is a romance novel with an accurate depiction of fibromyalgia (that’s also well-handled in the plot/by the characters).
Hmm this was a strange and short one, but may be worth checking out – Hunchback by Saou Ichikawa
“Metal from Heaven” by August Clarke
I just read a disability romance that was great. It’s all in your Head by Sabina Nordqvist. Both the characters deal with disability and chronic illness.
A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline. Based on a real person!
