I am finally realising my childhood dream and will be travelling to Ireland in April – with the option of ultimately working and staying there!
That's why I now want to read, read, read. Literary classics or contemporary; the country, nature, history, its people: give me Ireland in its purest form (just not James Joyce, I'm still recovering from my uni days). Fiction or non-fiction (I'm particularly interested in essays, nature writing and history).
What I already know and/or love:
- Murray's Bee Sting,
- Burns' Milkman,
- Sally Rooney, Claire Keegan, Maggie O'Farrell, most of Anne Enright,
- currently reading Making Sense of the Troubles by David McKittrick and David McVea.
All genres welcome, really. Thank you!
