Hey guys! My wife has a birthday next month and she casually dropped tonight, at a dinner party, that she'd like her next book to be a Nobel prize winner translated to French. I'd love to get her something fantastic… but I only read in Spanish and English, I know -5 French.
I was wondering if some of the kind folks here could help me out with a recommendation or 2. Thanks so much, y'all!
She recently read and enjoyed:
Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel García Márquez
&
The Pearl by John Steinbeck
Both in French. Again, please and thank you kindly. <3

The Stranger (L’Étranger) by Albert Camus of Algerian-French descent. Nobel prize winner for Literature in 1957.
He has other books so have a look at what you feel suits her but you can buy them in French quite easily.
There are tons of French translated Nobel prize winners.
Aupres De Moi Tujours is the French title of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, which she might enjoy based on the two books you mentioned by title.
