Hi everyone. As the title goes I'm looking for suggestions for books with a similar vibe. I'm not specifically looking for more of his works, I read a few others but didn't particularly enjoy them. (for Salman Rushdie )

I enjoyed the unreliable narrator style in both. Maybe I'm wrong in describing it that way, but there was certainly a vague feeling that the characters were not truthful. The back stories were well embellished and there were no dull moments.

Some may not like how the endings in both books were done , eg the ambiguity of the protagonists ending in Shalimar, or the implied death in the Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Finally, I hope I do not offend anyone. There seems to be perhaps a style of how writers of non Caucasian background writing in English style their works. ITs a similar vibe to how Japanese works translated to English come across in a similar manner. I'm open to any writer or any background but if you understand what I mean, then I'm looking for that sort of style

    Thanks for anyone's time
