Hi!, I am seeking mature books that are about a significant magical physical transformation (and their coming to terms with it, but that's optional; don't tell me!) be that via curses, mishaps, or other intriguing sources; this can be instantaneous or a slow, gradual transformation, but a mystery about the 'why' can be fun!
Examples include; being turned into a werewolf, or being turned into an actual wolf; ideally they should be atleast very noticeably different from before.
Preference towards medieval fantasy worlds, permanent transformations, dehumanisation, animal themed transformation, aswell as trans-human positivity; characters that support this new identity in encouraging ways.
No interest in petrification (or similar ailments) or age transformations, and ideally their new form shouldn't be an eventual death sentence just by default.
