Hi! Basically title. I have loved reading at various times in my life, but as a 28 year old with responsibilities and ADHD I usually gravitate to whatever game I feel like playing in the hour or two before I go to bed so I can decompress.

I like fantasy. I enjoyed the ACOTAR series. I read the Eragon series when I was a kid (quite a few times over the years.) I also really enjoyed a John Fante’s ask the dust. It was bought for me as a gift an I think his writing style is digestible yet still interesting.

Anyways, I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks.

    1. For this situation, the two most common suggestions are going to be Murderbot (starting with *All Systems Red*) and *Dungeon Crawler Carl*. You could also try *One Day All This Will Be Yours* by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

I’m gonna try to edit in with less obvious suggestions if I think of any.

if you likes playing video games, then I highly recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC)

Amazon has not the best reputation, and I don’t want to give much money to Bezos, but the entire series is available on Kindle Unlimited, even during the free trial period.

on that note, the DCC audiobooks are one of the best and considered the “definitive” way to experience the story.

reading AND listening (to audibooks) can be a great way for you to start getting into reading.

I blasted through the first book in a day or so, and finished the 2nd one in less than 2 days.

audiobooks can be expensive, but I got great discount on them once I add DCC to my Kindle Unlimited library.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I am in Australia, so not sure if Amazon works (or even is available) at OP’s region.

    3. Try Raymond E. Feist. Start with the Riftwar Saga (Magician: Apprentice is the first book). They move pretty fast but have deep history/worldbuilding that isn’t painful to learn 🙂 there’s also a ton of books so if you like them you don’t have to make a decision about what to read next for a long time. I’ve read them as paperbacks and as audiobooks and both are 👍👍
