Hi book friends, please suggest me some cozy, gentle, but not saccharine books to distract me from the escalating horrors. Preferably not romance; some is okay but not the focus, more palatable if it’s sapphic. Best example of the vibe I’m looking for is A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers (and yes I’ve already devoured all of her other books).

Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde – it gave me the same type of feeling as A Psalm for the Wild Built. A little more sly-witted but equally hopeful. There’s a romance but it’s not the driving focus of the novel
