Reading “The Spectacular Now”, the main character is a drunkard and a mess but I love how the story is written. The protagonist is witty and smart, wasted potential basically but a helper, to his detriment.
Anyone know of anything similar? Or similar writing style?

The gargoyle by Andrew Davidson, a few warnings (sex,not graphic, just memories of the past and as his job as a porn maker, drug use, suicide, and graphic description of burns and healing
