Y’all, don’t laugh but, charlottes web DESTROYED ME as a child. Recently re read it and it’s still sad as hell. I was never the same after that book. I hadn’t experienced that level of sadness in my every day life, and up until that point the books I read had happy endings.
I’m curious to know if other people have books that you were just not the same after reading

You must try Khaled Hossenis Books…
Why we sleep.
Tuesday’s with Morrie – Mitch Albom
A Monster Calls
Just a devastatingly beautiful story on grief.
I read Charlotte’s Web as a kid and though it’s not the only reason, it definitely contributed to why I’ve gone 6 years without eating pork. Or spiders either, I guess
For the good: Lily and The Octopus. Beautiful story about a man who loves his dog, Lily. Sobbed like a baby at the end.
For the weird: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. It was…………………………………….. easily one of the books I’ve ever read. If you have body dysmorphia, tread with caution. It made me feel physically ill but I’ve been designing a shirt based off the HATE obelisk so take that as you will
I had the same childhood experience, but for me it was “Sasha, My Friend” by Barbara Corcoran.
For me, Johnny Got His Gun changed me entirely and made me question so much if ever been told. I was 15 or 16 the first time I read it.
1984 has made me paranoid and skeptical of all governments.
