So, I'm gonna start this by saying that I'm neither asexual nor aromantic. I'm just a gay boy. But a friend of mine is aroace and we were talking about books the other day and she told me there aren't many books with good ace/aroace rep.
Do you guys have any book recommendations? Can be both ace/aroace rep but no fantasy pls. And I'd like it to be actual rep not just some "this character is giving ace" and then you read it and there isn't any actual rep in it.
I'm well aware that there isn't much of that out there but I thought I'd come to reddit and ask for recs. <3

The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz. Short but super sweet
Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells (sci-fi)
The Hereafter Bytes by Vincent Scott (also sci-fi)
My daughter and I just read Every Bird a Prince by Jenn Reese. It is fantasy, but the main character and her friends live in the real world and deal with crossover from the fantasy world, rather than it being entirely set in a different reality.
Edit: Also, it’s middle grades.
The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann. Its a romance with 2 ace protagonists. They talk about how they can identify the same way but have different boundaries. The author I think is ace too.
If you don’t mind a little supernatural, Elatsoe by Darcy Little Badger is great as well and has ace rep.
