I don't mean just "this fantasy book has elves, dwarves, etc and they participate in the plot", I mean a book that details the culture of a fantasy universe in an immersive way as part of the main appeal, leaning towards worldbuilding.

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang is a great one for this. It’s a trilogy and well worth reading. Any of her books are worth reading to be honest. She’s amazing.

    3. Discworld, especially Monstrous Regiment and the City Watch subseries starting with Men at Arms

    4. Terry Pratchetts Discworld books, in particular the ones set in Ankhmorpork. Guards, Guards and Going Postal are good books to start with.
