I had read many good things about this book so I wanted to give it a try. I had been reading the Dungeon Crawler series and just finished the hitchhiker's guide to the universe so I wanted something very different and I believe this is it
I definitely like the historical component takes place during the rise of Nazi Germany and tells of the story of the book Thief.
I would be interested to know any thoughts you have if you have read this book or have it on you or TBR.
Also similar books would be appreciated. I definitely like the historical component.

I loved it. Mainly because I used to read a lot of WW2 fiction – and it made me cry.
It’s a very good book, but keep your tissues nearby there’s a few Very emotional points
Fantastic book, evocative and emotional. Zuzak is an excellent writer and really captures the horror of Nazi Germany through a child’s eyes.
You might need to go back to some light-hearted sci-fi fun as a cleaner afterwards though, it hits pretty hard.
that book thief is so so soo emotional and beautifully written. also try All the light we cannot see.
It’s been a good 15 years since I read this book but it had such an impact when I was a teenager, I still consider it one of my favourite books. Cried like a baby! Death’s character, seeing things in colour – I only remember bits and pieces now but I loved the book.
It’s so wholesome, makes you cry
