As the title suggest, I have recently got back into reading. In my younger years I read a ton of Fiction but lost interest in my late teens.
I wanted to actively get back into reading so I picked up The Hobbit and love it, got through it in a week. Right now I'm reading Murakami, I have read After Dark, Kafka on the Shore and I'm reading The Wind-up Bird Chronicle.
I want to find books to build on my growing interest before branching out to more adventurous stuff. I usually like stories that consist of Adventure and Self Discovery or interesting character studies. Feel good fiction or deeply moving plots that will leave in tears (ideally positive rather than devastating) is also welcome.
Movies/TV I loved:
Normal People
The Martian
Into the Wild (Favourite)
LOTR
Good Will Hunting
Stand by Me
Life of Pi
