After reading Tom Lake, I had to go read Wilder’s Bridge of San Luis Rey. You could outfit a good AP summer reading list from the books alluded to in Fahrenheit 451. Even the Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion, being mostly anachronistic comfort reading, trumpets an ever-lengthening list of suggested reading.
What books have recommended other books to you? Not just “oh I like this, and should read more of this author,” but in a more explicit recommend ration way. Did you like them? I think about The Bridge of San Luis Rey all the time and I’m glad I reread Julius Caesar after UJOEML.

After reading “This Is How You Lose The Time War”, I had to go out and find the copy of “Travel Light” that one of the characters recommends.
After reading *I Cheerfully Refuse,* I read *The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break* and both are just absolutely phenomenal.
Mostly this happens to me with non fiction. Interesting reference that makes me seek out the full work. I believe most recently I picked up a Robert Sapolsky book that was recommended in a book by Gabor Mate.
Reading Scott Kelly’s *Endurance* made me want to read Tom Wolfe’s *The Right Stuff*.
Not finished yet, but I’m on a quest to read the 3 books Frankenstein’s monster reads in Frankenstein! I’ve read Paradise Lost, now I’m starting the Sorrows of Young Werther.
