I’m looking for some fiction recommendations. The thing is: I almost never read fiction. I’ve tried a few times, but I’m very sensitive to writing style and often struggle to get into it.
For example, I’ve tried books by Hemingway and Tolkien, but the writing just didn’t click for me. Maybe it’s because they’re older, but I found them hard to get through.
One book I did really enjoy was The Beach by Alex Garland. I loved how it was written and could really identify with the main character. The mysterious atmosphere, the psychological aspects, and themes like drugs and escapism all made it really engaging for me.
I’d like to read more fiction, so I’m hoping someone here might have suggestions for authors or books that I might enjoy based on that.
