Pretty specific – but I've hugely enjoyed Glorious Exploits and also Zorba the Greek – vaguely philosophical but easy reading, entertaining reads on friendship, futility, sadness etc.
Any thoughts? Main characters don't need to be men of course, and doesn't need to be set in Greece either!
