After the whole discussion inside my social media bubble talking about writers who hate reading, it is time to get back into the game and actually give modern books another chance. The problem is that I'm far too picky by now although my requirements are not crazy imo. Hope someone can help me <3
I want to read something that is not older than 10 years. I love books with gothic vibes, psychiatric problems, self-awareness, or playing with the perception of reality itself – but as subplots. I love being disturbed by the abyss inside the character's psyche while a big mystery needs to be solved.
I don't care for romance, sexuality, or racism. It's not a problem if they are in the book, but I DNFed far too many stories because said topics bore me to hell and back.
I would prefer physical books over e-books. Also my sensory issues can't deal with sprayed edges.
