Looking for books that discuss art in the context of society and humanity. Not looking for how to draw type books or color theory etc. but deeper philosophical ideas and essays/discussion on topics.
Examples of the kind of thing I’m looking for:
– Nudity and its relationship to feminism and how it shows up in fine art vs. pornography.
– the impact of color/visual design on our mood or psychological state.
– how art movements shaped history.
– discussions about what makes something art, ie. low brow vs. high brow and art as it relates to class.
– the impact of fine art and color in every day life we May not realize—design and how it influences us.
