I've read a few popular ones, but I've hated every one of them. But I so badly wanna find one I like so I can see that not all classics suck.
My main problem with them is that nothing happens. For like 80% of the book. It's just a whole lot of fancy yapping that has nothing to do with the plot, with some tiny plot related details sprinkled within. Every one I've read has just been a snoozefest. So is there any classic that's like a real page turner? Something with an actual interesting plot?
The ones I've read:
-Dracula – Bram Stoker
-Frankenstein – Mary Shelley
-Pride and prejudice – Jane Austen
-Edgar Allan Poe (a few short stories, and I gave up)
-1984 – George Orwell (this one was sort of interesting, if you exclude the weird comments the mc makes about women, but I had to skim most of part 2 because I was b o r e d)
