Start reading again? Where to start?

Hello,

As I progress out of college I am feeling more and more like an idiot and would like to read more to resolve this. I have a bachelors degree in philosophy and really enjoyed that.

Where should I start for not direct philosophical literature?
I have never been much of a literature reader, therefore I have no idea where to start.

I would like to start with the canonical works of a "well read person".
