as the weather is getting slightly warmer, i'm beginning to get in the mood to read a book that features a lot of atmospheric, summery scenes, surrounded by greenery. i'll list a few books that i think fall into this category as examples:
- atonement (ian mcewan)
- anne of green gables (l. m. montgomery)
- rebecca (daphne du maurier)
- brideshead revisited (evelyn waugh)
- the virgin suicides (jeffrey eugenides)
please give me recommendations so i can add to my list! i don't read contemporary books as much but i'm open to all recommendations, as long as they have prosaic descriptions of green, summery scenery!
p.s. poetry is good too! i've been quite fond of 'summer' by john clare and would love to read more poems that are similar 🙂
