I'm so tired of this timeline where it seems no one can read a paragraph to the end, where conversations are nearly exclusively meaningless, and every joke is just a reiteration of the same three jokes we've been hearing for decades. I'm just as stupid/smart as the average person, but this still depresses me.
I've come across media before that's supposedly set in an intellectual utopia, but the crux is always that somehow having knowledge equates to lacking emotional intelligence and the main character's a sensitive man or kid who wasn't magically born a genius and the takeaway is always anti-intellectual in a way that only depresses me more.
