One of the books I read last year was Atlas Obscura, but I really think it’s not the type of book you should read like a novel. It’s perfect for a coffee table when you’re bored and want to just skim something interesting.
Anyone have a similar kind of book they’d recommend?

The 99% invisible city is a good one, it’s based on the podcast by the same name and comes with lovely illustrations. It features very short chapters of information relating to various city related things (roundabouts, street signs, statues).
I’ve always wanted a nice copy of Codex Seraphinianus!
