    Hi, I need some help.

Lately my girlfriend has gotten used to falling asleep while listening to me talk, and it’s been working really well. Recently she’s been asking me to tell her about dreams I’ve had about her so she can fall asleep, but I’ve basically been repeating the same one all week. It got me thinking it might be better if I just read her a book instead.

The problem is neither of us really reads, so I have no idea where to start.

She doesn’t like anything scary, so no horror. Other than that, the genre doesn’t matter too much as long as it’s fiction. I’m looking for something that’s relaxing enough to fall asleep to, but still interesting enough that on nights when she isn’t very sleepy and just wants to listen, she won’t get bored of the story.

I don’t really have any favorite authors or past reads, so I’m open to anything. Just looking for something you’d recommend to someone who’s basically new to reading, especially something you’d read to your significant other.

    1. Oh, Series of Unfortunate Events might be good! I know they’re technically for kids, but they are REALLY good … and you can kind of drift off and not pay super close attention, there’s lots of repetition. If you get really nuts, there’s tons of fun voices you could do, lol.

      Have fun.
