I just reread Adam Leslie's Lost In The Garden and I enjoyed it SO much more the second time. The first time I hated the main character quite a lot, I was disoriented and bordering on uncomfortable. The second time I felt more prepared for the bizarre world and could focus more on the characters and their stories.
I also enjoyed The Southern Reach series better the second time, though Authority is kind of meh still.
